Mixed Doubles – Saturday 28th June
The Mixed Doubles was played on the Saturday. Our brave players included Penny and Clive, Alison K and Ron, Alison B and Joe, Jenny and Geoff, Chris and Stuart and Sally and Mark.
The pairs were split into 2 groups, and matches were played in a 'round robin' format of two full sets with a third set Championship Tiebreak. Winners of each group then played the final.
The final saw Chris and Stuart and Sally and Mark play an exciting and nail biting match which could have gone either way. Chris and Stuart took the first set at 6:1 and then Sally and Mark came back at them with a 6:4 win. A gripping Championship tiebreak finally ended with a 12:10 win to our reigning champions Chris and Stuart.

Ladies and Men's Doubles - Sunday 29th June
The Ladies and Men’s Doubles were played in the morning of the Sunday, which felt even hotter than the Saturday .Unfortunately we only had 2 pairs of Ladies and 2 pairs of Men, so this went straight to finals.
For the Ladies final Alison B and Penny played Sally and Nicky. Everyone played so well in the heat with some very close games. However Sally and Nicky just took it with a 6:4 6:4 win.

The Men’s Doubles was just as exciting, and very close indeed! Jem challengers Mark and Steve took on Swanmore originals Stuart and Geoff. Mark and Steve took the first set at 6:4, and then Suart and Geoff won the second set 7:6. With most of the Sunday Team Practice group watching an electrifying Championship tiebreak, Mark and Steve finally pulled out the win at 14:12. Amazing tennis!

Thank you to everyone who took part, and for playing some fantastic tennis in the heat. Hopefully this will encourage more of us to play next time. Without you, the tournament would not have happened.

Remember to enter for our main Club Championships Tournament on weekend of 19th and 20th July which is open to everyone, whatever your standard or age ! Timings and format will be determined closer to the time.
