Coaching

Tennis Ayrshire is committed to providing District Training for our competitive junior players at all ball colours -  these squads started in January 2024 and run throughout the year in school term time.

The purpose of these squads is not only to help improve our juniors, but they form a foundation for selecting the Ayrshire Squad for the annual Scottish Inter District Tournament - currently held at Strathallan School in Perthshire the first week of Easter Holidays. Players compete over 4 days in three age groups ( 12U, 15U & 18U ) for both boys & girls whilst also boarding at the school under the supervision of two coaches.  Parents are welcome to go along and watch each day and see their children make new friends, meet up with current ones - and most importantly - have a great time!

Ilona's short bio is below 👇

"Before moving back to Ayrshire few years ago, I built on my experience in Suffolk within a club environment, coaching players from recreational level through to county champions and high level  juniors.

As a coach, I draw on my own experience to deliver clear, purposeful sessions that support each player in reaching their full capability. I place an emphasis on developing the mental & tactical skills needed to equip players to be able to compete and win.

My playing background includes representing the South of Scotland County and competing across the UK - resulting in an offer of a college scholarship to America. However, as a low-handicap golfer, I ultimately pursued a golf scholarship instead."
