Lesson Policies

Individual/Private Lessons:

  • If an individual lesson needs to be cancelled or re-arranged, please provide the team with as much notice as possible out of courtesy to the coach, so they can rearrange their work and attempt to schedule another player instead.
  • If a lesson is cancelled with less than 72 hours-notice from the start of the session, the full lesson fee will be charged as normal.
  • All communication for bookings must go through the Tennis Icon UK office not through coaches.
  • If a lesson has to be cancelled due to rain, snow, ice or any other adverse weather condition that impacts health and safety, then no fee is payable. Lessons can only be cancelled by the management team. Coaches have no authority to cancel sessions.
  • If a session takes place for over half the allocated time of the class e.g. over 30 minutes in a 1-hour session, then the class is deemed to have taken place and charged in full.
  • If you are unsure about the weather conditions, please contact the Tennis Icon UK team.
  • There is a 5 working day window to settle invoices issued by Tennis Icon UK from the date billed. All invoices will be sent by us via email from our Bookings inbox so please check junk folders too.
  • If an invoice is not paid on time, then we reserve the right to cancel any future lessons until payment is made in full.

Group Lessons on a Course:

  • Group coaching sessions will only be cancelled due to severe weather; and we must wait until as close to the time of the class as possible to make a final decision. If it is drizzly, we will do our best to continue, so we would advise to bring suitable waterproof clothing and wear appropriate footwear.
  • If you are unsure whether your lesson is going ahead, please contact the Tennis Icon UK team beforehand to confirm.
  • The management team will have the final decision to cancel a group lesson and will endeavour to contact each player to make them aware of the change (this will be done by SMS and/or email).
  • Lessons are only cancelled by the management team in the office. Coaches have no authority to cancel lessons.
  • If a session takes place for over half the allocated time of the class e.g. over 30 minutes in a 1-hour session, then the class is deemed to have taken place and charged in full.
  • If a lesson is cancelled the player will have a lesson in credit, which you can use to do a make up session if there are other courses available during the term of the same age group. Otherwise, the credit can transfer to next terms course.
  • If a player is absent from a lesson without notifying the office, unfortunately no refund/credit can be given.
  • Junior and adult groups are bookable for the whole term on the weekend. No refunds can be given once the course has started unless a replacement player can be found.
  • If a player needs to cancel a course before the start date, please give as much notice as possible. No refund will be given for less than 48 hours notice unless a replacement player can be found.
  • If a coach is absent for a group session, a replacement coach will be found where possible. If the lesson has to be cancelled a credit will be given to you.
