Booking Terms Of Use
Terms of use – August 2025
These terms of use apply to the hire of tennis courts at Archbishops Park, Brockwell Park, Clapham Common, Hillside Gardens Park, Kennington Park, Larkhall Park, Ruskin Park, Streatham Common, Streatham Vale Park and Vauxhall Park. They also apply to cricket net bookings at Clapham Common and Kennington Park.
By making a booking to hire a court, you are agreeing to abide by these terms of use.
Pay and Play
- Tennis pay and play is charged at £7.70 or £12 per hour, per court respectively.
- Cricket net pay and play is charged at £9 per hour
General booking rules
- You must book a court or net online before you play
- The hirer can book one slot, up to a maximum of 2 hours per day. If duplicate or fraudulent booking accounts are identified, any associated bookings will be deleted without refund
- Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance, with new slot availability for the following week to go live at 8pm each day
- A maximum of 4 players should be on a tennis court at any given time, unless the session is being provided by a permitted coach or the hirer has written permission from Lambeth Council
Cancellations, Weather, Refunds and Credits
- Court cancellation periods differ by site.
From 1st September 2025, Vauxhall Park will have a 24 hour cancellation policy,
All other sites will remain at a 2 hour cancellation policy.
Cancellation by the hirer
- If the hirer wishes to cancel their booking and be refunded in full, this must be completed within their own account area and within the terms of the cancellation period.

- No cancellations made by email will be accepted.
- If the above cancellation terms are met, the hirer will be refunded in full to their original payment method. Refunds can take 5-10 days.
- If a player has tried to cancel their court booking via Clubspark but there is an issue with the system, clear evidence of this should be provided and sent to parkssportsbookings@lambeth.gov.uk. This evidence must be sent in advance of the booking slot, in line with the cancellation terms of that specific site, in order to be eligible for a refund.
Weather Cancellations
- For any weather cancellation, it is the responsibility of the hirer to cancel their own booking in order to receive a full refund to their original payment method. This must be done within their own account area and within the cancellation terms of that site.
- If play is not possible due to an unplayable court, a request can be made to credit the booking back to your account via parkssportsbookings@lambeth.gov.uk
This must be done before the end of the booking slot.
When contacting the email above for a credit you will need to provide information about your booking; the reason you couldn’t play, the name of the lead booker, court date / time, venue and court number. This request must come from the person that has made the booking.
- Only credits will be issued in the case of an unplayable court at the discretion of the Council
Refunds and Credits
- Where credits are issued to a booker, they will be made available for up to 28 days after the booking that is being credited. Credits not used in that period of time will expire and are no longer valid.
- Credits will be available automatically when you’re at ‘Checkout’. You’ll able to choose if you want to use your credit on your purchase or save them for another time.
- Refunds and credits are given at the discretion of the Council.
- No part session refunds or credits will be issued.
- If you cancel a booking that you have used your credit with, the credit will not automatically reimburse the booker with the credit. You will need to contact parkssportsbookings@lambeth.gov.uk to reimburse the credit if the cancellation falls within our policy.
- The Council will not be liable for any other expenditure incurred or loss sustained by the hirer arising from cancellation.
- Refunds may take 5-10 days to be sent back to your bank account.

Cancellation by the Council
- The Council reserve the right to refuse, cancel or change any booking or event at any time prior to its commencement and to refuse admission to the courts. Where possible an email will be sent to the hirer notifying them of this.
- The Council reserves the right to pre-book the courts at will – including the purpose of coaching, events, or maintenance.
- In the case of the Council cancelling a person’s booking, it shall issue a full refund or credit you the full price.
- The Council shall not be responsible for any extra costs incurred as a result of a cancelled or rescheduled booking.
- There is no entitlement to a refund where the Council is forced to cancel part or all of an event beyond our reasonable control. However, refunds may be given at the Councils discretion.
Court rules
- Courts must not be used for any other purpose than that of the booking being made e.g. sporting activities, they must not be used for unlawful activity and should only be used within the times that are booked.
- All bookings are non-transferrable and must not be sub-let to third parties. Any instances of unauthorised usage or subletting may result in future bookings being cancelled.
- Hirers agree to abide by the Lambeth Parks Byelaws as displayed online here: Rules and regulations | Lambeth Council and any relevant acts of parliament/applicable legislation.
- Hirers are responsible for ensuring that their participants are aware of the rules of use for a facility before activities begin.
- Hirers are required to:
- Ensure that any exits must not be obstructed for fire regulations or obstruct other park users.
- Flammable materials and naked flames are not to be used on site.
- Appropriate adult supervision will be provided where participants involve children.
- Hold appropriate safeguarding training and or qualifications for the applicable activity
- Cooperate with and follow instructions as directly by council staff or its nominated representatives.
- Vacate the court by your allotted finish time.
- No smoking in buildings or enclosed/fenced facilities.
- No animals (other than assistance dogs) will be permitted within buildings or enclosed/fenced facilities.
- All litter that is generated by participants will be disposed of in waste bins or removed from site completely if they are full. Failure to comply may result in costs being charged for its remove and if repeated may result in future bookings being cancelled and refused.
- No trespassing onto private adjoining property to retrieve balls or any other reason. Courteous contact may be owner/occupier by the front entrance to request return of balls should the owner permit.
- Parking of vehicles for hirers, participants or spectators is not permitted in any Lambeth park or open spaces unless a designated public car park exists.
- No public address or amplified equipment is to be used unless prior written consent is granted in advance by the council.
- The hirer and participants shall indemnify the council against all actions/claims, demands and costs in respect to injury to a person/property arising out of or incidental to the hire and use of our pitches and facilities.
- Event bookings may be subject to additional licensing requirements and charges. Hirers are responsible for ensuring they adhere to any licensing requirements.
Coaching
- Only tennis or cricket coaches with written permission and that block book courts through Lambeth Council are permitted to coach on the parks tennis courts and nets. Any individual to be found coaching without valid permission and other required pre-requisites will have their bookings cancelled, account deleted and both the Parks Enforcement Team and the LTA will be informed
- Assistant Coaches are not permitted to book courts for coaching purposes without written consent from Lambeth Council
- Coaches have to abide by the terms of their own license arrangements and booking procedures
Right to play
- The hirer must book a court or net online before playing and it is your responsibility to look after your booking pin number issued. We will not be able to issue a new pin at short notice
- If someone is playing on the court or net when you arrive use your booking confirmation as proof or use another court or net if available. If both show adequate proof, the name listed on the live booking sheet will be final.
If you breach any of our guidance or terms, we reserve the right to cancel bookings without refund.
