Tennis

The tennis courts have been in existence for over 100 years. The land was transferred to Thurso Tennis Club from the Ulbster Estate by feu charter.  Originally 2 clay courts, they were taken over by our club in 2015 when Thurso Squash Club and Thurso Tennis Club merged. At that time the courts were in no fit state to play tennis on. With £10,000 of Club funds and other much appreciated financial support from local and national organisations the courts were upgraded in 2017-18 to an all-weather surface with overhead floodlighting to enable play all year round.

The newly fenced area now includes 2 full size courts, a mini orange court, a Rebo practice wall and small equipment shed. Final surface and line painting has just been completed and the tennis courts will be available for play from 1 pm Sunday, 20th May.

Entry to the locked courts is currently by entering a code into the lock. Members will be informed of the code when making a booking and will be informed of any change by email through clubspark. The code will be on display on the Tennis noticeboard in the Clubhouse/squash courts.

We have no supervision at our facilities except for coaching sessions and other events organised by our voluntary committtee. This means that Juniors under the age of 12 years and under must be supervised by an adult.

Toilet , changing and shower facilities are in the Clubhouse/squash courts on the opposite side of Millbank Road.
