Terms of Use
General Terms of Use.
Wyndham Park Tennis Courts (WPTC) are owned by South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) and managed by Grantham Tennis Club Ltd (GTC) on their behalf for the community of Grantham and surrounding areas.
Although no-one likes too many rules there are a few ‘Terms of Use’ to ensure everyone's enjoyment and safety when using WPTC. Please familiarise yourself with them before booking a tennis court.
Whenever you use the WPTC you are confirming that you, and anyone playing tennis on your booking, understand and accept all the terms below;
- GTC will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the facilities provided are safe. When playing tennis at WPTC you do so at your own risk. Please apply common sense in looking out for yourself and other players.
- Parents and legal guardians are responsible for their children when using the WPTC.
- The playability of the court is weather dependant. Court usage in poor weather conditions is at the individual’s personal risk. Check the weather click here.
- Warning: When wet or frosty, the courts surface including the lines become slippery and may be dangerous to play on. Please take this into consideration when deciding to play. No play should take place when the courts are too wet or frosty.
- We recommend for your safety that tennis shoes should be worn which have good grip. You can wear whatever shoes if they are clean and non-marking at your own risk. This is to make sure the courts in tip top condition. Player’s footwear must not have a raised heels for your own safety.
- Please check that the courts are free from debris of any kind before playing and report any damages to parks@granthamtennisclub.co.uk. The visitor centre may be staffed and able to deal with any issues you may have.
- Please ensure you close the court gate properly after you have entered the court and when leaving the court.
- Please do not let anyone else, other than players from your booking, onto the courts under any circumstances. Everyone who would like to play need to book a court.
- Smoking (including e-cigarettes), drinking alcohol and chewing gum is not permitted on the courts.
- Tennis courts are for tennis use only. Bikes, scooters, e-scooters, roller-skates, footballs, footwear with spikes or studs and dogs (apart from guide dogs) are all strictly prohibited on tennis courts.
- Please respect other users of the courts, the children’s playpark next door and other users of the park. Please consider your language.
- Any person misusing and / or behaving anti-socially on the courts will be asked to leave by GTC or SKDC employees / volunteers.
- When you have finished playing, please take with you everything you have brought with you onto the court, including all tennis balls and litter. GTC and SKDC accept no responsibility or liability for any loss of property at WPTC.
- Please respect your own and other people’s possessions. GTC and SKDC can accept no responsibility for items lost, stolen or damaged.
- No person other than GTC authorised and appointed Coaches and GTC authorised and appointed Tennis Activators will be allowed to coach on WPTC paid or unpaid.
- GTC reserve the right to amend the Terms of Use for WPTC at any time in the interest of protecting the courts and community using the tennis courts. Updates will be published on the Clubspark Wyndham Park Tennis Court website.
Right to play
You must book a court online before playing. If someone is playing on the court after your booking time has started, please use your booking confirmation as proof to show it is your time to play.
Court Bookings
- There is an online tennis court booking system, Clubspark, for use by the public.
- Court bookings should be made online in advance before playing and it is your responsibility to look after your booking pin numbers issued. You can book up to five minutes before e.g. 13:55 for a 14:00 start.
- Court bookings are available on the half hour, minimum one hour.
- Pricing is set by GTC to maintain the tennis courts.
- Players are requested to arrive in time for the start of their sessions and to vacate the court immediately. Please do not enter the courts before your time slot has started.
- When asked, players should show their booking confirmation (provided to you by email when booking).
- For safety reasons, no more than 4 players should play on any one court.
- Court usage is at the individual’s personal risk.
Cancellations
- Please cancel any unwanted bookings online (even if at the last minute), to allow others to play.
- An automatic refund will be issued if a cancellation is made 48 hours in advance of your session.
- If you can’t play due to adverse weather, you need to email parks@granthamtennisclub.co.uk within 12 hours of the start time to request a credit which can be used another day. This credit issued will be the value of the original booking. Credits will expire 4 weeks after they are given.
- Refunds within the 48 hours of your booking will only be issued by discretion of GTC and requests must be made by email to parks@granthamtennisclub.co.uk no later than 12 hours after the start time of the bookings.
- GTC reserves the right to cancel bookings, where there is cause, at their discretion. An email will be sent to players notifying them should this be necessary, and a refund given.
- GTC may stop play whenever it is considered necessary to protect the surface of the courts or for safety reasons if the courts are deemed to be unplayable. People who have booked will be emailed and a refund given.
- GTC reserves the right to book the courts for coaching, events, and maintenance.
- GTC reserve the right to cancel bookings without refund of any person who does not abide by the Terms of Use.
- GTC and SKDC reserve the right to refuse access to the tennis courts at WPTC.
