CAPTAINS UPDATE
Captains Guide
Please could all captains ensure you are reading this when you enter anything unusual rather than guessing. Hopefully everything is covered and makes sense but please let us know if not.
Walkovers
Following on from the information in the Divisional Secretary’s report for the AGM and in the subsequent minutes (please read these captains Click Here), please note the following:
Rule 28 has been updated. There is no longer a limit for the number of one pair matches a team can play. Please note that notice must be given to the opposition who can then either, also field one pair (no extra sets will be awarded in this case) or may offer a postponement if both teams agree.
We are not making a rule about taking walkovers before Xmas, but we hope that postponements can be accommodated and walkovers avoided. This will, of course, depend on the circumstances. If you have any doubt about whether to take a walkover, please consult with the Divisional Secretary who can take a view and try and maintain consistency across the League. We always need to know about the circumstances of either a postponement or a walkover so we need a note on the match please.
The last day of the season is Sunday 19 April so we still have 5 months- this should be plenty of time to find another date.
Checking Results
Results should be double checked, once entered, by the losing captain. Some mistakes have been found already this season by those who have done this.
Entering Results
This needs to be done within 72 hours please or a note and the postponed status if it didn’t go ahead. The opposition captains then know they can go onto the site after 72 hours to check the results. If you’re going to be away, your Fixtures Secretary can do this for you.
Please note: The postponed status will not save unless you click save under match status and then again under Rubber Results. Please refer to the captains guide.
Rearranging Matches
A reminder of the following rule:
16). If a match must be rearranged two new dates must be offered by the home team. Such rearrangements must be made within 21 days of the original match date. It shall be the responsibility of the home club to enter the rearranged date on-line within 48 hours of the agreement.
The two dates offered should be dates where the opposition does not already have a match the same weekend/ day. Matches can be played at anytime as agreed by the captains.
As ever, thanks for all your support, it is really appreciated. ☺️
Stay warm!
