Upcoming refurbishment of tennis courts

We're excited to share an update on the upcoming refurbishment of our tennis courts, which will soon be transformed into high-quality artificial clay surfaces on courts 1 and 2, and a new Macadam surface on court 3 for everyone to enjoy. Court 3 will be a multi-purpose court for tennis and pickleball players.

Refurbishment schedule (weather permitting)

Court closure begins: First week in March 2026
Refurbishment period: 4 weeks
Court reopening: Spring 2026

During this time, the courts will be unavailable for play. We appreciate your patience while this work is completed and will keep you informed if there are any changes to the timeline.

A reminder of the benefits of clay courts
We're confident this upgrade will improve your playing experience. Artificial clay courts offer several great benefits:

Easier on the body: The softer surface is gentler on joints, helping reduce impact and strain.
Longer rallies: Clay slows the ball slightly, encouraging strategic play and more engaging points.
Improved footwork: Playing on clay develops balance, movement, and control.
Playable in wet weather: Artificial clay surfaces drain faster.

We're excited to bring this improvement to the club and can't wait to welcome you back onto the court once the refurbishment is complete.

Arundel Lawn Tennis Club is quite possibly one of the most picturesque clubs in the whole of the UK with its impressive views of Arundel Castle and the South Downs. A well-established, welcoming and inclusive local club, passionate about getting all ages to play tennis.

We are situated in the historic town of Arundel, on the edge of the South Downs National Park. We have three hard courts (macadam), two of which are floodlit.

PLEASE NOTE - When booking courts the active LOCK code will be stated in your booking confirmation.

We offer tennis to suit a wide range of standards and ages. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, a junior looking for coaching and development or a "rusty racket" returning to tennis after a long break - you are sure to find a welcome and play to suit your needs.

We have been a proud part of our community for over 100 years. We offer coaching for adults and a popular junior program. We currently have 2 men's teams and 1 women's team competing in Sussex leagues (and doing rather well!) and we run social tennis sessions several times a week as well as organizing fun days and tournaments throughout the year.
