About Us
Cowan Park Tennis (CPT) is managed by East Renfrewshire Culture & Leisure Trust, who partner with Giffnock Tennis Squash & Coaching services
Our mission is to promote health and wellbeing by providing accessible, sustainable, community tennis for everyone.
Community: we are run for the local community. We work closely with local organisations to encourage and support participation by all and to help grow the game in our neighbourhood.
Accessible: we believe tennis is for everyone, regardless of ability or circumstances, and will always offer free access to our courts to those that need it.
Sustainable: we recognise that maintaining this great community asset for the long term will require ongoing revenue generation and reinvestment. We will ensure that funds are managed appropriately to guarantee the long-term viability of the courts, for the benefit of our local community for many years to come.
100% of the monies derived from the membership, fees, donations and grants is reinvested into CPT. These funds are utilised for:
- routine operating expenses such as the booking system, courts maintenance, minor repairs and renewal of nets and equipment;
- growing a financial reserve for future repair/refurbishment costs;
- an LTA-registered coach who provides free community lessons, arrange social tennis, special needs groups activities and promotes schools’ involvement.
