What can you expect?
At the Blue stage, children will learn fundamental skills for tennis through play in a fun, stimulating and safe environment. Children will be encouraged to make decisions and positively cooperate with other children. Sessions will be active with skills being developed at an appropriate pace to the child’s experience and ability.
Notes from the coach
Kids start to practise overarm serves, volleys and learn how to rally, whilst developing their co-ordination, balance, speed and agility. Still with soft balls and small courts they'll be introduced to relaxed competition too. This will look a bit more like the tennis you know. You’ll see overarm serves, rallies and volleys. Coaches will help children to further develop their co-ordination, balance and speed. Team Challenge week will happen every 6th week of term this will allow them to play the game as part of a team and give them time to practice their skills in a real life game.
