At Bourton Vale LTC we welcome players of all ages and standards who are keen to play tennis. Whether you want to meet other players for some relaxed social tennis, improve your fitness, raise your game or play competitive tennis at league level we have the opportunity you are looking for. SOCIAL SESSIONS
Social tennis sessions are a great way to meet other players of similar ability. A committee or club member will be there to introduce and welcome new players and to organise play. These are roll up sessions – just turn up and play, no booking needed – and are free to members of all standards. There are weekly social sessions for all adults on Thursday evenings 18.00 onwards and Sundays 10.00-12.00; mid-week groups for ladies 10.00-12.00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and men's doubles 18.00-20.00 on Fridays. COMPETITIONS AND TOURNAMENTS
Annual Club Championship: Members can compete for silver trophies in Men’s & Ladies’ Singles and in Men’s, Ladies’ and Mixed Doubles. All adults and students are welcome to enter and partners are drawn so entry is on an individual basis for all categories. The deadline for entries is usually at the end of April so matches can start in May – invitations are sent to all members in advance.
Fun Tournaments: The annual Opening Tournament and the Rose Bowl Tournament are open to all adult and student members – dates and information are posted in the clubhouse and online and notices are sent inviting all members to join in.
Singles Box League: A singles box league is available every season for adult and student members. Please contact Alex Peyton on alexpeyton74@gmail.com for more information.
Junior Tournaments: Opening Tournament, Junior Club Championship – information circulated to junior members and posted in the clubhouse and website when available.
Gloucestershire League Matches: We compete in the Gloucestershire Doubles League during the Summer and Winter with 5 teams (2 ladies’, 1 men’s, 1 mixed double and 1 ladies’ over 60s). To be eligible to play in matches, players must be fully paid-up members of Bourton Vale LTC and have British Tennis Association Membership (free and easy to register online https://www.lta.org.uk/Members/Join/. A match fee of £2.50 is charged per player.
Wychwood Mixed Doubles League: A friendly, mixed doubles league between local clubs mostly played at weekends throughout the summer. This is the perfect league for players who aren't available/interested in playing in the more competitive Gloucestershire League but would enjoy some match experience with excellent tennis teas and social interaction with other clubs in the area. Look out for more information on the clubhouse noticeboards.
