Mens singles
Jonathan Khan progressed to the next round with a 2 set win over Salman Asif, one of our younger members in the event. Lots of praise from JK for the standard of Salman's play.
Ben Davies booked his place in the next round with a 2 set win over David Bloom. Ben will play Keith Harris in the next round.
Jos Bailey beat Rob Melling in three after losing a close first set. Jos goes on to play Geraint Davies in the next round.
Mixed doubles
The rain stopped just in time on Saturday afternoon for Craig Feldman and Julie Besbrode to play David Bryceland and Rebecca Leigh. Craig and Julie edged through in two sets.
Meeting them in the quarter final are Graham Alty and Maura McKibbin, who beat Nick Hill and Liz Walley in two sets.
David/Rebecca and Nick/Liz will face each other in the consolation draw quarter final.
Jonathan Khan and Fiona Murray beat Howard Forrest and Shân Spencer in two sets to book their place in the next round.
