Social Events/Tournaments

A variety of Social Events and Social Tennis Tournaments are held throughout the year.

Upcoming Social Events:

  • Brackendale X Conway Box League Finals Day - 18th April from 10:30am
  • Darts Night - 24th April from 7:30pm
  • Quiz Night - 20th June from 7:30pm
  • Games Night - date tbc
  • Comedy Night - date tbc

 

Social Play: No need to have a match booked, just show up and play!

  • Tuesday evenings, 7.00pm - 9.00pm
  • Wednesday mornings, 10.00am - 12.00pm
  • Sunday mornings, 10.00am - 12.00pm (autumn & winter); 10.00am - 13.00pm (spring & summer)

 

Team Social Play: Operating with a fixed 4/8 signup system for women's & men's teams - first come first served.

  • Saturday mornings 10.00 - 12.00 (Summer)
  • Saturday mornings 10.30 - 12.30pm (Winter)

 

Social Tournaments:

 

1. Box Leagues

Box Leagues run through the year for competitive play amongst club members.  We offer Women's Singles & Doubles, Men's Singles & Doubles, and Mixed Doubles (depending on sign-up rates).

  • Summer: Runs 1st May - 31st August 
  • Winter:  Runs from 1 Jan - 31 March 

We are even running Box Leagues with Conway LTC to strengthen our partnership with them, as well as offering more options for competitive play for our members!

Our Brackendale X Conway Box League Finals Day will be on Saturday 18th April (10:30am - 4pm) with 9 finals being played to determine the winners of each group.

 

2. American Tournaments

An American tennis tournament is a social, rotating doubles format where players are randomly paired at the start. Matches are short (usually first to 5 games), and after each round players move up or down courts depending on whether they won or lost. Partners change every round, often facing their previous partner in the next match. After several rounds, individual scores are totalled, and the male and female players with the most games won are crowned winners and receive prizes!

Our next American Tournament will be held on: Sunday 14th June (11am - 4pm).

 

3. Morton Cup Tournament

This is a mixed doubles tournament held every year in memory of a much loved former member. This year's Morton Cup will be held on 17th May (11am - 5pm).
