Welfare Officer

Our Club Welfare Officer is Dawn Ellis. She is responsible for promoting safeguarding at the Club and works with others to ensure we have a safe and inclusive environment for all. Her roles and responsibilities include among others the following:

  • Assist the club to fulfil its responsibilities to safeguard children, young people, and adults at risk
  • Assist the club to implement the necessary Safeguarding polices and to keep them under review 
  • To be the first point of contact for coaches, volunteers, parents, guardians, and children/young people where concerns about their welfare, poor practice or abuse are identified
  • Be the first point of contact with the LTA Safe and Inclusive Tennis Team
  • Implement the LTA reporting and recording procedures
  • Maintain contact details for local social services, police, and NSPCC
  • Promote the LTA’s best practice guidance/code of ethics and behaviour within the club and anti-discriminatory practice
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained
  • Assist with the resolution of any other complaints received by the Club under and in terms of its Complaints Procedure
