Welfare Officer
Our Club Welfare Officer is Mhairi Reid. She is responsible for promoting safeguarding at the Club and works with others to ensure we have a safe and inclusive environment for all. Her roles and responsibilities include among others the following:
- Assist the club to fulfil its responsibilities to safeguard children, young people, and adults at risk
- Assist the club to implement the necessary Safeguarding polices and to keep them under review
- To be the first point of contact for coaches, volunteers, parents, guardians, and children/young people where concerns about their welfare, poor practice or abuse are identified
- Be the first point of contact with the LTA Safe and Inclusive Tennis Team
- Implement the LTA reporting and recording procedures
- Maintain contact details for local social services, police, and NSPCC
- Promote the LTA’s best practice guidance/code of ethics and behaviour within the club and anti-discriminatory practice
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained
- Assist with the resolution of any other complaints received by the Club under and in terms of its Complaints Procedure
- Mhairi is the first point of contact for all children and adults who may have concerns about welfare, discrimination, abuse or poor practice. See our Policies page for the terms of our Policies.
