Padel Basics Events

Broughton Padel have run 20 Padel Basics events since October which have proved very popular. The next Padel Basics event is on Saturday 26th April . As usual it can be booked via the Events Page.

Padel Basics is the natural place to experience Padel and the stepping stone to play socially or look to improve through coaching.

Padel Socials

These are proving incredibly popular and being booked up within hours of being made available on the Events Page of this website.

Demand is clearly high so we are looking at ways of putting more Socials on going forward.

All Socials are by Player Category and advertised in the WhatsApp Group for that Category. As these are open to both members and non-members if you want to be added to a WhatsApp Group please contact Broughton Padel: All we need is a name and mobile number.

County Match: Lancashire v Yorkshire (Over 50's Teams)

Broughton Padel was delighted to host an inter county frierndly match on 15th April between Lancashire and Yorkshire.

The weather stayed fine and after two hours of play Lancashire emerged the winners 3 - 1.

Padel Box Leagues

A Box League trial recenmtly concluded, held in the Improver Category. This proved succerssful and we are currently seeking entries for a full Box League across Inprover, Intermediate and Advanced categories to commence in May. Entries requested by midnight 25th April.

This Box League is being offered in conjunction with iPadel and Padel Levels. Only Broughton Padel Members are eligible - see Members Area.

The Broughton Padel YouTube Channel is up and running.

There are videos on there of the Opening Day, the recent NIck Williams Coaching Day and some spectacular drone footage covering the whole Broughton & District Club site and showcasing Tennis and Padel.

Play on the Padel Courts is available both with Membership packages and on a Pay As You Go basis to Non-Members and Member’s Guests.

Online Booking is available between 08.00 and 22.00 daily

Anyone can book a court, whether a Member or Non Member and free loan equipment, on trust, is provided for the use of players who do not yet have their own. Many players though, once they've tasted the great game of Padel are already buying their own rackets and choose to use their own balls.

Fully integrated, automatic floodlighting will power on for bookings where daylight ts insufficient. Four LED floodlighting stanchions per court provide a perfect playing level of light. The floodlights turn off automatically as well.

Tennis Lancashire Club of the Year 2025

We're proud to announce Broughton has been named Club of the Year for 2025 by Tennis Lancashire for both Padel and Tennis.

The award was collected on Sunday 2nd March at the Tennis Lancashire AGM held at Hightown Tennis Club.

This is a prestigious award and one that we are thrilled to have won against strong competition from other excellent nominees.

The presentation was made by Sandi Procter, LTA President.

We have been running Padel Basics Taster Sessions since we opened back in October 24 and will continue to do so. We'll continue to host more - they're really popular and a great gateway to Padel. Keep an eye on the Events page for details - when there's a Padel Basics available it will appear there to book on to.

Our existing tennis coaching team from Wayne Scott Tennis & Padel, have started a Coaching Programme focusing initially on the Beginner and Improver category of players which again have proved very popular and they are working on expanding that to meet demand.

All use of the Padel Courts, whether for Members or Non-Members, requires booking either through this website or the LTA Booker App, available for both Apple and Android smartphones.

All those making bookings will need to be registered with this site – using either an existing LTA Advantage Account or a new one.

For those who don't yet know: What is Padel?

Padel is an energising racket sport, which has taken the world by storm.

It is the fastest growing sport in the world, and once you have played it, you will know why. Nicknamed "Tennis with walls" & "Squash in the sun". Padel combines the best elements of Tennis and Squash and is suitable for all ages.

Padel is typically a doubles sport in an enclosed court, which is roughly 1/3rd, the size of a tennis court (20m x 10m). The surrounding walls are an integral part of the game, allowing players to play off it, resulting in longer and more exciting rallies. The scoring system is the same as tennis.

Padel is an addictive sport that appeals to a wide population. Individuals across all ages can play it. The smaller court makes it a social game improving communication and team bonding.

The short stringless Padel rackets are easier to control as it is much closer to the body. Made from carbon fibre or fibreglass, the strings are replaced with a foam or rubber with holes for an improved aerodynamic performance. The balls used are similar to those in tennis, however, slightly smaller and less bouncy.
