Meet the Coaching Team for Busby

Claire Kinloch Anderson has been providing coaching at Busby for over 20 years.

Initially, she worked as the sole self employed coach but now she has built up a team of coaches and volunteers to support the range of classes she offers at the Club.   Claire is also an active playing member at Busby and still manages to serve on the committee!  Claire's experience is invaluable to the committee where she acts as the Club's Competitions Organiser and advises on Tennis Development issues.

The Club describes the arrangement with "Claire the Coach" as a partnership between her coaching team and the Club.  Her history with Busby means that the coaching services she offers to her customers, are structured to also be of benefit to the Club and its membership.

Claire's involvement with tennis isn't just limited to running a coaching business.  She manages to fit in being a Director of Tennis Scotland and Tennis West of Scotland as well.  Claire is also the LTA Councillor for Scotland on the LTA’s Council.  This is the forum which represents most of those bodies which are members of LTA.

Her other activities on court are as a County Captain for West of Scotland as well as being a qualified LTA Referee and LTA Court Supervisor.

All coaches that lead sessions or offer private coaching to Busby members are LTA accredited.  Coach Accreditation is the LTA’s professional membership scheme for coaches. Being Accredited ensures that a coach is qualified, insured and meets safe to practise standards, such as first aid and child protection training.

During busy sessions, volunteers from the club are on hand to assist.  They won't undertake any coaching but all will have Protection of Vunerable Groups (PVG) membership through Tennis Scotland.

Claire often has other youth volunteers helping her, usually as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award

Safeguarding

All the safeguarding policies that the club operates under apply to the coaching run on Busby courts.  We have a section of the website dedicated to safeguarding so you can find out more there.
