Congratulations to Andy and Peter Whittingham who went through as winners from the Quorn Cup event on Open Day. A picture is attached and Andy reports
We really enjoyed the day. Finished 2nd in group and progressed to the 1/4 final before being beaten by a consistent young lad. Good spirit except for the winner (the DAD) who losing 3-0 in the final decided to stand at the net and win nearly every point even though his son was probably good enough to win it himself.
The club would like to take the opportunity to thank the many volunteers who help make the club run so successfully. Whilst I am sure there may be some who are forgotten we would like to thank all of the team captains who do a great job especially with the inclement weather about at the moment. Also thanks go to Jane, John, James, Ben and Chris who have put up the new windbreaks; Hector Ian and Chris who did the moss spraying; Julie Lea and Suzanne for their help with the flowers and weeding on site; Hector and Ian for the fridge and shelf put up in the chalet; Bregje and Jeremy for painting the shed; Jo and Adam for their help on the new website. There are so many more little things that people do and if you would like to help without being a member of the committee please ask or simply do it!!!! Church Broughton would like to thank all of its volunteers for giving up their spare time so readily!
