Safeguarding

SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY.

NOT RESPONDING TO A SAFEGUARDING CONCERN IS NOT AN OPTION.

Church Broughton Tennis Club aims to ensure that everyone attending the club has a positive and enjoyable experience of tennis in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. We want to ensure that everyone, particularly children, young and vulnerable adults are protected from abuse whilst participating in tennis.

If you have any Safeguarding Concerns or want to speak to someone in confidence about anything that is bothering you about your time at the tennis club, please contact our Club Welfare Officer:

Joanne Woodward

If the Welfare/Deputy Officer are unavailable or a safeguarding concern relates to them, the concerns should be referred directly to the LTA via https://safeguardingconcern.lta.org.uk/.

The Summary Below outlines our general approach to Safeguarding. However, we ask that everyone attending the club familiarises themselves with our detailed Safeguarding Policy and any other policies that are relevant to them. For example

  • If you are considering taking photos at the club, please first read our Photography Policy.
  • If you are needing to transport children for Tennis (eg as a Team Captain for a match), please read our Junior Trasnport Policy

Child Supervision: In line with our Safeguarding Policy we recommend that children under the age of 13 using the courts outside of coaching and other organised activities: are supervised by a parent or known adult.
