Coronavirus Arrangements

The Tennis Club is closed for the duration of  lockdown. Current plans, subject to revised legislation to go through parliament shortly, is for the club to be able to reopen on Monday 29th March.

The Tennis Club should be reopening on Monday 29th March when it is expected that outdoor sport will be able to resume after the current National Lockdown

Church Broughton L.T.C is a long established L.T.A accredited Club with over 170 members. Our facilities at Bent Lane consist of 3 floodlit macadam courts and a macadam multi-sports court with hitting wall.

Come and join us! The Club welcomes new members of all ages from experienced players to complete beginners and rusty returners.

For experienced players and returners, we have teams which compete in both the Derby and Burton Leagues in both the Winter and Summer leagues.

We organise many social sessions, events and competitions purely for fun, so that even beginners can join in. There is a comprehensive coaching programme for juniors and adults.

Our weekly schedule is on the 'Activities' section of the Booking Tab. Most sessions are now Bookable on our  Coaching Page 

  • Junior Coaching on Wednesday evening, Thursday evening and Saturday morning - see the Coaching Page for details.
  • Thursday morning adult coaching / social tennis - 9.00-11.00 am - £8 members, £10 non-members - with Jane Rushby
  • Social doubles sessions on Saturday afternoon (12.30 - 2.30 pm) and Sunday morning (10.30am-12.30pm) - just book on and join in for fun mixed tennis playing with a variety of partners  (Free to members -  £4 non-members)
  • Adult & teens fun coaching, drills and matchplay  with Becky Williams - Sunday evening (6.30 - 8.00 pm) £5.50 members, £8 non-members and Wednesday evening (6:30-8.00 pm)-  £6 members, £8 non-members 
  • Friday Fun Nights - Very popular monthly events - with a barbecue, snacks and drinks and plenty of fun tennis. FREE to members, £3/£2 for adult/junior non-members - Not running while Covid restrictions in place
  • "Mid-week" sessions - During the summer weeks, the courts are often kept free from matches. We try to run various internal tournaments, exercise sessions and doubles challenges or just "turn up and play" club sessions. - see our Events Page for more details

Non-members, please book on to one of these sessions to find out more and give tennis a try.

Visitors can also use the Pay and Play system operated by the club. Check the booking section of the website to see if courts are not being used and use the online payments system to book and pay for the courts. The courts are not locked, so this is an honesty system. If it is dark, payment for the lights will be incorporated into court hire and paid for when booking. The key for the lights is kept in the cupboard next to the chalet; please remember to turn the lights off after use.
