Juniors

At Claygate LTC, we are committed to providing a local, welcoming, inspiring opportunity to play tennis - combined with a good mixture of training and informal competition.

As a result, we have a thriving Junior presence at the club and are keen to promote young talent with dedicated club time, competing teams and tournaments.

Juniors are also encouraged to play and mix in with friends and family.

Once they have reached a sufficient standard,  Juniors are invited to join the Senior club sessions.

Junior Programme -  LTA Pathway

Our Junior programme, under the guidance of our qualified LTA Coaches offers clear progressions for players as they get older or as their game improves.  Starting with tots groups for pre-schoolers, we follow the LTA Youth system, going through the red, orange and green ball colours before players move up to the full ball.

We keep the student to coach ratio as low as possible to guarantee that every child, regardless of ability level or ambition, is given real attention and is never left out.

The coaches have a good track records working with children, are enthusiastic about teaching tennis and most importantly care about their role in teaching the future of tennis.

They ensure the student to coach ratio as low as possible to guarantee that every child, regardless of ability level or ambition, is given real attention and is never left out.

Our coaches always keep to remain fully up todate with regard to ongoing changes and developments, which benefit both children and adults.

They are available and approachable to explain the current LTA Pathway which looks further at the development of our more promising young players by having regular contract with other Surrey Coaches.

Box Leagues

This is a great opportunity for our junior players to have first  taste of infomal competitive play.  Children are organised into groups of similar age and ability and play shortened matches against others in their group.  The coaches will advise of the most appropriate group.
