Our annual autumn Tony Peak Tournament took place on Sunday 28th Sept 2025.  Rita and Stuart  our winners competed in the final against Mike and Marie in a well-matched entertaining final to  win the cup.  Their names will duly be engraved on the cup. WELL DONE finalists and winners!

Twelve mixed pairs played five heats apiece on the two courts in very wet conditions - in fact, play was paused until 10am after the first heat when the first players were soaked.  Such a contrast to our Spring Slam weather!

As ever, we enjoyed a very friendly competition with a longer than usual opportunity to socialise because of the rain stopping play.  

Once again, a huge thank you goes to Kevin for his meticulous organisation.  The tournament took place seamlessly despite the rain (Kevin clearly doesn't have influence in 'high' places despite his other abilities!)

Thank you to Clare ONCE AGAIN for foregoing play to keep score throughout as well as ushering players onto court as their turns arose and for some of the refreshment preparation; and thank you again to Maureen for organising the refreshments which added great pleasure and great sustenance after all play had ended.  

The event raised £150 in voluntary donations from players.  This fund will be added to a fund being raised on 11th October at the Spotted Dog to go towards another defibrillator in the village.
