GBTW Open Day

Comptons Tennis Club opened its gates to host another very successful Open Day on Sunday 13 May.   The original gloomy weather forecast proved inaccurate and instead a glorious afternoon of sunshine and light cloud illuminated a beautiful picture of the Club facilities and put smiling faces on the many visitors, friends and members who made the event so special.   A pop-up shop manifested behind the Club House and Jon created the most delicious charcoal grilled beefburgers and hot dogs, accompanied with healthy salads; and from the kitchen home-made cakes were served with coffee and tea.

It was so encouraging to see the number of children on the courts, - all enjoying the imaginative tasks that Richard presented to them to lead them into dexterity of movement and introduction to tennis.

Comptons Coaches - Andy, Adrian, Richard, Julie and Petra - imparted their skills and enthusiasm to those guests who signed for personal and group tuition - and Dave, who trialled the sessions with an open mind, has returned home with the dilemma to decide whether he will now lay down his other sports in order to accommodate tennis as a new passion.    Lots  visitors did not have such a major decision – and have enriched the Club by having committed to membership during Open Day.
