About us

Cwmbran Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1987 but the clubs roots date back to the early 1960's.

The club has been situated in a number of locations but our present home, in the grounds of Greenmeadow Golf and Country Club, was established in 1995. The clubhouse was replaced in 2014 with a new cosy pavilion , maintained and run voluntarily  by club members.

Our aim is to be the first choice tennis club in Torfaen and its surrounding areas with the best tennis facilities and coaching in the region. We offer a variety of membership options to suit members life style needs and are always keen to welcome new members of all ages and level of play.

We have 6 outdoor courts in total available for use the whole year round:

  • 3  Artificial grass courts (short piled sand filled) with floodlighting
  • 3  Tiger Turf Pro courts with floodlighting

Booking a court for members is 'free' using the online court booking facility but we also provide a 'pay and play' facility for non-members.

Head coach Pat Wilson is a fully licensed LTA coach and manages a busy programme of coaching sessions  for adults and juniors across all levels of ability from beginner, intermediate and advanced.

A number of teams represent the club in various age groups. We have mens and ladies teams who compete in the Summer and Winter local and South Wales leagues.

Environmental Sustainability Strategy:

In 2022 the LTA published it's Environmental Sustainability Plan setting out it's ambition to secure a lasting future for tennis in Britain through positive action on climate change and leadership in sustainability.

The Club's strategy document outlines our approach to introducing and managing environmental sustainability at Cwmbran Tennis Club.
