Your Tennis Journey
The DCTP Tennis Leaders programme provides young people (aged 11 to 18), whatever their tennis ability, with the opportunity to gain invaluable leadership skills both on and off court.
Tennis Leaders Training Workshop - Dates TBA
What is a Tennis Leader?
Tennis leaders support coaches to deliver tennis sessions on court, and support the running of a venue or event. They're a role model to younger players, members and school children, and inspire others to play.
The programme's an excellent way of helping young people into leadership opportunities across tennis, sport and beyond, whatever their interests.
Benefits of becoming a Tennis Leader
We encourage our young players to become Tennis Leaders to develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, self-confidence, communication and self-management. As you will know, these skills are vital for the workplace in almost any career.
You'll gain invaluable skills and experience that you can use throughout your life – whether in tennis or sport, or outside it. Upon completion of the course you'll receive:
- A branded LTA Youth Tennis Leaders t-shirt
- LTA Certification award
- A workbook to refer back to
Participants will volunteer at junior sessions which can also be used as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award.
Under our guidance, some of our Tennis Leaders can get paid work in the future as some of other coaches have already done so.
What does the programme involve?
Participants will support us in the running of mini tennis classes, junior matchplays and holiday tennis camps.
There will also be workshops throughout the year to improve your leadership skills.
The programme and all course materials/resources are provided.
