We were delighted to welcome students from local primary schools Applecroft, St John’s Digswell and Welwyn St Mary’s to DFTC in June as part of a Year 3 Herts LTA Schools Tournament.

During the afternoon the students learnt the basic rules of tennis and played short format tennis matches on smaller courts.  They were able to play doubles against every other pair in the event and at the end of the tournament their achievements were celebrated with certificates and medals.

It was a pleasure to welcome these children and their teachers to the club and see them enjoying the game that we love too.

Many thanks to all the volunteers (Zoe, Clare, Debbie, Linda, Ruth & Catherine) who were able to make this event happen and give the children an opportunity to enjoy playing tennis.
