Chair's Club Member Of The Year 2018 - Gareth Thomas

The Chair's Club Member of the Year award is presented annually at the AGM to the member selected to have significantly contributed to life at the club and has made a difference in the operations and offering of the club to its members.

This year there were several worthy candidates, however for his work in the newly appointed role of Facilities Officer, Gareth Thomas has received the accolade.  

Gareth has been instrumental in improving the standard of the facilities at the club this year.  The major project under his supervision was the cleaning and repainting of the courts, which has been well received.  He also has taken the lead on organising working parties to perform smaller tasks such as maintaining the perimiter of the courts, putting up new nets, trimming overhanging trees and repairing our wind breaks.  He has also already started planning next years work to be undertaken.

Gareth also undertook the captaincy of the Mens C team this season, who retained their place in Division 3 by the closest of margins, half a point!
