VACANCY

Nuffield Health Devonshire, Plymouth - Aspiring Coach Wanted

Job Description

Self-employed Level 3 or 4 LTA Accredited Coach wanted for thriving Health and Racquets Club in Plymouth, to start as soon as possible, or September at the latest.

Our new coach will be versatile; keen and able to work with our youngest minis, through transition to yellow ball, and also comfortable with adults. A particular interest in Technical Development would be a great advantage. You may have a track record in developing juniors to county level or a desire to develop this expertise.  It would be advantageous if you could offer LTA initiatives such as Cardio Tennis and Youth Tennis.

The role is initially part time but with a good number of hours, with scope to grow quickly to a full-time role. You would also be offered cover work. There is the opportunity to create more groups, and build your own clients, with support from the club, and as you become established there will be an opportunity to grow your role. Flexibility to work a mixture of days, evenings and weekends would be advantageous. The Racquets department is entering a new phase of development so this is an ideal time to get onboard.

Venue

We have 8 indoor and 2 outdoor courts, swimming pools and gym, with a large membership and a variety of players of all ages and standards.

We have a good range of groups, squads, and social tennis, for all ages and abilities. Cardio is very popular, and we also run other LTA initiatives such as Youth Tennis.

We have a growing performance programme, with strong links to Devon Tennis and a core group of players competing at county and regional levels. If you are a strong player, the club boasts several teams and enter the National Club League. We also host the county seniors training and a range of Junior matches.

Person Spec

We are looking for a coach who is competent, organised, highly professional at all times, a team player who is determined to develop themselves. You must be passionate about putting the players at the centre, and ensuring they are technically proficient with the skills and self-motivation to keep them enthused about the game longer term. You must be a good communicator and have an inclusive approach. Your lessons will be structured, focussed and motivational. An emphasis on Safeguarding is a must. You will be supported in your development.

This would suit an aspirational coach in the early stages of their career (Level 3), or a more experienced coach (level 3 or 4) who are looking to develop their role more widely. LTA or equivalent.

Please send an initial enquiry and CV via email to: lindenhardisty.coach@gmail.com

Interview and on-court selection will take in due course for shortlisted candidates.

We expect all coaches to uphold the LTA Code of Conduct, and demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children.
