PADEL

PADEL MICROSITE NOW LIVE ( www.ltapadel.org.uk)

Given the growth that padel has had over the past few years, and will continue to have over the coming years, the LTA have built a standalone padel website so that the sport can get the attention and visibility that it deserves.

The main benefits of the padel website are:

• To raise awareness of the sport and improve people’s interest & engagement – we can directly promote this website across all our channels

• SEO benefits and to allow Padel to have greater visibility in Google

• To improve the customer experience so that Padel content is housed in one place (as opposed to nestled amongst all Tennis content)

• Opportunities for more people to play the sport through the ‘’find a court’’ functionality which looks at just padel courts

• Ability for users to easily find and book a competition

• Gives us commercial opportunities – we've now got bespoke padel partners to promote

• Enhance the LTA’s reputation through the website

The website has the same navigation setup as the LTA website for consistency and because these are all important sections for padel (Play, Compete, Fan Zone, Roles & Venues, News, What we do).

The URL is www.ltapadel.org.uk and the website has been built to cater for all audience groups. Users will also be able to easily flick between the LTA & padel website through a ‘’toggle’’ that will be visible at the top of both sites.

Why is padel so popular in the UK?

Fast-paced, accessible and social – it’s easy to see why padel is widely renowned as one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

In Britain, we’re experiencing our own padel boom, with around 400,000 people playing on an annual basis. Since the LTA have been appointed as the national governing body for padel, the number of courts in the Britain has also been on the rise, approaching 700 courts nationwide with ambitions for more in the coming year.

As the padel revolution takes hold in Britain, we look at a few of the reasons why the world’s fastest growing sport, could become your new favourite.

Padel is… open to everyone

Simply put, anyone can play padel – it doesn’t matter your age, ability or background, everyone is welcome on court.

Padel is easy to pick up for beginners and even if you’ve never played before, you’ll find yourself rallying with friends and family in no time with our unique padel tips for beginners.

Compared to other sports, padel is less about technique and power when you first start playing, so everyone is at more of a level playing field right from the off. Serves are underarm, balls have a slightly lower compression and the racket is closer to your hand, making it easier to control your shots.
