WE’VE BEEN AWARDED DORSET CLUB OF THE YEAR 2025!!!

CLUB OF THE YEAR: On 14 June 2025, the club President, Clive Richardson, was presented with the 2025 LTA County Award as East Dorset Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club was voted Dorset Club of the Year. Clive was presented the award by Sandi Procter, the LTA President, and John Feaver, Dorset Tennis President. See the photo in the gallery below.

What a fantastic achievement. We’re indebted to the hard work of the groundsmen Kirin and Jason, and the numerous volunteers that make the club run smoothly, plus all members who make the club what it is. OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR: Sally Revell (a coach at the club) recently won Dorset LTA Official of the Year Award for 2025. Sally organises and officiates regularly at LTA junior tournaments and recently Padel tournaments as well. Sally is an LTA Level 3 Accredited plus tennis coach – a credit to the club. WALKING TENNIS: We're delighted to have been awarded a £4,110 grant from Nationwide Building Society for Walking Tennis. Ideal for anybody looking to build their confidence, returning from injury, or just need a bit more time getting to the ball. Walking Tennis is for anyone that wants to play tennis, but at their own pace. No running or jumping and you can let the ball bounce twice. Less speed but just as much fun! Our Club

We are a busy and friendly Tennis, Croquet and Bridge club with some 800 adult and junior members located in the heart of Ashley Cross, Poole. Our welcoming and vibrant atmosphere was acknowledged by the Dorset LTA as they have awarded us the Dorset Club of the Year in both 2019 and 2025.

We offer some form of Club Day mix in Tennis almost everyday and host coaching sessions at all levels for Juniors and Adults. Whatever your standard or experience we have something to meet your needs; whether you are a Wimbeldon Warrior or Tennis Titan, right through to a Senior Stalwart or Seasonal Spinner.

People have commented that we have some of the finest tennis facilities within Dorset, comprising 16 Championship standard Tennis Courts on 3 different surfaces, 4 Artificial Clay, 6 Astro (Artificial Grass) (all with recently installed LED floodlights) and 6 Grass Lawns with free to members bookings on all of our courts. In 2024, we added three outdoor Padel tennis courts.

Our Club has 5 full-size tournament standard grass Croquet Lawns where members play both Association and Golf Croquet. Our active Bridge section has weekly sessions for both Duplicate and Chicago Bridge, including coaching sessions for Beginners and Improvers. See our Croquet and Bridge pages for more information.

The Club House includes a fully stocked and licensed Bar and a Cafe both open daily, including a weekly changing menu and Sunday Lunch. The Club Function Room is available for hire at modest rates and is used by a whole spectrum of the local community from exercise classes such as Pilates, Yoga and Zumba to Language, Art, Music and other classes.
