Box Leagues

Elthorne Tennis provides competitive opportunities for EVERYONE with Box Leagues

Our Box Leagues are run with the aim of supporting local players play competitively, this includes Adults and Juniors playing both Singles and Doubles. It’s worth noting from the outset Juniors will be included in Adult Box Leagues – although any junior included will have been playing regular LTA Sanctioned Tournaments in addition. We hope this will foster a healthy environment where all players can benefit from being part of a community and links are made that might not be otherwise. The Box League will also support players representing Elthorne Tennis in the Local County Adult and Junior Leagues.

In our first round of Box Leagues (during July/August 2024) there will be no charge to play in a Box League. In subsequent Leagues, players will be charged £8 to be included (this will be discounted for all Elthorne Tennis Team Squad Players), which is substantially less than being involved with one of the LTA Local Leagues.

All matches played and recorded will go towards a person’s ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) so players will be able to track their rating development over time. Please click here for more info about WTN

It is hoped players will play matches on the courts at Elthorne Park, please note courts are available from 7am in the morning until 10pm in the evening. MUGA courts will be bookable during all times during the upcoming school holiday period. MUGA courts are charged at £4 public, £2 members so lots of cheap hours to use. Please be aware courts are bookable 8am, 7 days in advance. The scoring format will be a FAST4, 3 set match (2 sets to 4 with a match tie-break if necessary), and as such, it’s possible to finish a match within a 1 hour court booking slot. If players are uncertain if they will finish their match in time then each person should coordinate their bookings to book the same court for a 2 hour booking (meaning each person books one hour each)
