Freshford & District Tennis Club has a very active Social calendar and aims to offer something for all members. Here are some of the planned activities and important milestones for 2026 so please save the dates - We will keep this page updated with new events so please check back again soon!
Weekly Club Tennis Launch - Sunday 8th March (2pm - 4pm)
Kick off the new tennis season with an informal afternoon of social play. A great opportunity to meet other members, enjoy relaxed doubles, and get back on court after the winter break.
Season Opening Social Tennis Morning - Saturday 11th April (10am - Noon)
Celebrate the start of the new season with a welcoming morning of social tennis. Open to all members, with friendly games, fresh air, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow players.
Freshford Club Championship Entry Deadline - Saturday 18th April
Final day to enter this year’s Club Championships. Make sure your name is entered to compete for the club titles and enjoy a summer of competitive and fun match play. There will be Singles and Doubles categories and matches can be played on any day that is mutually conveneint before each stage deadline. You'll need to be available to play in the final on Saturday June 27th in case you progress that far. More details to follow, keep an eye on this page if you're interested in taking part.
Womens Coffee & Cake Social - Wednesday 29th April (10am - Noon)
A relaxed morning of tennis followed by coffee, cake, and conversation. Perfect for meeting other women in the club, enjoying doubles tennis, and starting the day in a sociable way.
Parent & Child Social Tournament - Saturday 9th May (10am - Noon)
A fun, family-focused tournament where children and any adult family member team up for friendly matches. Designed to be enjoyable, inclusive, and full of great tennis moments for all ages.
Play Your Way to Wimbledon Tournament - Saturday 16th May (10am - 4pm)
Take part in the national Play Your Way to Wimbledon competition for a chance to progress to county finals. Open to eligible Junior players and always a fantastic day of competitive tennis.
Freshford Club Championship Finals Day & BBQ - Saturday 27th June (10am - 4pm)
Join us for a highlight of the club calendar featuring Championship finals, great tennis to watch, and a celebratory summer BBQ. A brilliant day for players, families, and supporters alike.
League Players End of Season Social - Saturday 1st August
Celebrate the league season with an evening of relaxed tennis and social time together. A chance to thank teammates, reflect on the season, and enjoy the club atmosphere off the court.
Weekly Sunday Club Afternoon (2pm - 4pm)
A great option to get involved and find new people to play with.
Open to full members to come along and play a relaxed game mixing in with all who turn up.
Junior members of a certain standard are invited to join in. To gauge numbers for this session it is advisable to check in via the Club WhatsApp group...
Join the Freshford Tennis Social WhatsApp group
We have a WhatsApp group where members can interact and find playing partners.
People typically use this to ask if anyone wants a game. The idea is that we can all find someone to play with (singles or doubles). Games don’t have to be arranged through the WhatsApp group, but it’s here to help if you need it. Everyone is welcome to join and requests for players are an open invitation to anyone.
