Return to Restricted Play

Dear Members,

We hope you are all keeping well and saying safe.

Following further announcements from the Government on 10th May , tennis activity in England will be able to take place outdoors from Wednesday with singles play only, other than where players are all from the same household in which case they can play doubles. This will be subject to strict guidelines prepared by the LTA -see details here for players and here for venues.

We are pleased to confirm from 8.00am Wednesday 13th May the hard courts will be available for play for Grange Members only by following all these social distancing and safety requirements:

Singles play – but following social distancing rules remaining 2m apart at all times

Doubles play – same household only

  1. Court sessions must be booked by you by adding your session on our Court Time Calendarlink here.  This is also available on the Court Time page of Grange LTC Website.
    1. Court 1 (blue) - 90 min slots have been set up from 8.00am till 10.00pm, and Court 2 (green) – 60 min slots have been set up from 8.15am till 9.15pm, everyday until 9th August.
    2. Click the Court Time link.
    3. Double click on the time slot you wish to book.
    4. Add your name to replace Court Available title
    5. Click ‘save’ when prompted and ‘this event only’
    6. Close the calendar
    7. To be fair and allow all members access you may book one 90 min or 60min  session per day, and only book ahead 7 days.
    8. Please do not book sessions unless you intend to play.
    9. Please do not write over slots that have already been booked.
    10. Once you have booked you may wish to take a screen shot of your booking
  2. Players must take all their own equipment – rackets and balls. And take home all possessions, including litter.
  3. Due to practical reasons we cannot sanitise the gate handles, net handles etc, so please take with you your own hand sanitiser. For health and safety reasons our buildings (Clubhouse and changing rooms and toilets) remains closed to members.
  4. Arrive just before your booked slot and leave immediately afterwards, do not congregate with other people in the car park or  on court. Maintain at last 2m apart.
  5. If you are leaving and no other members are there, please lock the hard court gate.
  6. We appreciate some members may not feel comfortable with these arrangements, however they are necessary and stipulated by LTA and Government. If you feel you cannot conform with them- please do not use the courts and we look forward to seeing you again when restrictions are lifted. If any member breaks these conditions for restricted play the Committee reserves the right to postpone that membership.

Coaching

In line with LTA Guidelines Dave will be able to coach on a one to one basis. He and Kate will be contacting you shortly with information and costs. Coaching will take place on Court 2 and those sessions will be coloured orange on the Court Time Calendar.

 

Grass Courts

We are working on getting the grass courts ready and will let you know when and how they are available for play.

Subs and membership

Due to the tight restrictions on playing tennis, we are pleased to confirm that your 2019/20 subscription will continue for the time being. We will let you know when we  feel it’s appropriate to bring in the 2020/21 subscriptions.
