Here is the report from our recent match against the Southend Lawn Tennis Club.
Despite a hard-fought day on the courts, we ultimately came up short against the SLTC, finishing the competition with a close loss. While the scoreboard didn't swing our way this time, the overall spirit and enjoyment on the day were truly the real victories.
The matches were incredibly tight. Every player gave it their absolute all, demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship and some brilliant tennis along the way. The competitive fire was certainly there, and the experience gained from playing at this level is invaluable as we move forward.
The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was brilliant to see everyone cheering each other on from the sidelines. Win or lose, days like this are what club tennis is all about—friendly competition, great camaraderie, and the simple pleasure of playing the game we love.
A big thank you to the SLTC team for being wonderful hosts and to all of our players for the energy and commitment they showed. We'll take the lessons learned from this match and we’re already looking forward to our next fixture!
Best wishes,
Ray
