Welcome to the 2017 Season at Hampton Tennis Club

As we approach the beginning of the 2017 season, we have great pleasure in telling you about what is taking place at the tennis club this year.

WIMBLEDON DRAW
The club ballot for Wimbledon tickets will be held at the Sports Club on Wednesday April 12th at 1900. Those members who opted in on the LTA website by 17 February 2017 will shortly receive an email requesting confirmation that they wish to be included in the club ballot. If you do not respond to this email you will not be included in the ballot.

You will also be asked whether you are only interested in tickets for the weekends.

To be in the club ballot you must have paid your subscriptions by Monday April 10th.

EXTERNAL COMPETITIVE TENNIS
AEGON team tennis: One mens team, one mens veterans team (35+) and a number of junior teams playing at weekends from April to June. 

Coventry League: Five mens teams and three ladies teams playing on weekday evenings from the last week of April to the first week in August.

Warwickshire Winter leagues: One mens open age team and mens and ladies veterans (45+) teams playing at weekends from September to February.

INTERNAL COMPETITIVE TENNIS
Box leagues: Adult and Junior singles and adult doubles box leagues are run throughout the year with up to 10 players (or 5 pairs) in each box and promotion and relegation at the end of each 12 week playing period. Each match lasts for about one hour.

Tournaments: the competition runs from May to September , Challenger, Junior, Open and Veterans with two finals days – dates to be confirmed in due course, please make your choices when requested by email if you wish to enter, BUT PLEASE DO NOT ENTER IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO PLAY ON THE TWO FINALS DAYS. 

SOCIAL TENNIS
The programme is set up to ensure social tennis is available for all playing levels:
Monday 7.30 to 9pm: Team players (men)
Tuesday 8 to 10pm: Intermediates (mixed)
Wednesday 7.30 to 9pm: Team players (ladies)
Friday 8 to 10pm: Intermediates (mixed)
Saturdays 3 to 5pm: Family focussed but all invited (mixed)
Sunday 10.30 to 12.30am: Intermediates (mixed)
Sunday 3–4pm Family social (adults & full court juniors playing together to build matchplay opportunities )

COACHING
Ian Poole and his team of Sam Peace, Bel Chefri, Jack Crossley and Sam Hiskett run a full programme of adult and junior individual and group lessons throughout the year during school term times.
