Yesterday marked the first-ever Bassett Songhurst Championships, hosted at Penzance Tennis Club. Juniors from both Penzance and Hayle Tennis Clubs took part in a day of exciting singles and doubles matches, earning points for their respective teams in a friendly but competitive atmosphere.

The level of tennis throughout the day was exceptional, and the sportsmanship shown by all players was a real credit to both clubs. A huge thank you goes to Sammy for organising and delivering such a well-run tournament.

Congratulations to all the players involved, and a special well done to the Hayle juniors, who claimed victory with a close final score of 112–106.
