Happy 100th Birthday Freda

Happy 100th Birthday Freda

This month sees the 100th birthday of Freda Adelaide Parry.

Freda was born in Liverpool, a city she is proud to call her own (especially its football team) and was from generations of sea faring folk. Her father worked for the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo and she was from a large family but few reached adulthood.

Freda was privately educated and later trained to be an economics teacher. During the war she cycled around the war torn streets delivering hot soup to the homeless.

Freda married her childhood sweet heart Ken after the war and lived in Halewood where they built shops and flats and sold garages and sheds.

By the mid ‘60s they moved to Frodsham with their two daughters, Alex and Jo.

Tennis has been the love of her live and Freda was made a lifetime president after her tireless fundraising to ensure Helsby Tennis Club stayed open for all to enjoy - as she had.

Freda Parry was the Vale Royal Borough nominee at the chshire and warrington sports partnership 2007 award in the category of special recognition for oustanding contribution.

Best Wishes Freda on your 100th Birthday. Have a lovely time celebrating with your family and friends.
