Hillside Tennis Club has been a place of quality coaching for over 15 years. It has a long history of working with people of all ages and standards and a philosophy of helping people of all backgrounds into tennis and that continues to this day. From starter level children to Aegon Junior Champions, from rusty adults to competitive league players, there is a class or product that we offer that can help you improve your game and get you to love tennis even more.
Our philosophy on coaching is very simple. We believe in fun, hard work and respect for tutors and players alike. This approach is received very well by both players and parents and has produced some exceptional young tennis players over the years. Our juniors have often progressed into league winners and we hope every player we see develops a lifelong love for the game.
At Hillside Tennis Club, we are privileged to have three coaches working in partnership with us, to provide members with a range of opportunities to help them 'fine tune' their game - whatever their playing standard. Our Head Coach Mike Taylor has been a tennis coach for many years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. We also benefit from having a female coach, Jane Drew who works alongside Mike. She has been qualified since 2015 and specialises in ‘Rusty Rackets, Cardio Tennis and junior coaching. There is nothing better than seeing juniors, adults and families develop as players at all levels and as members of the club and local community.
Tennis can be enjoyed by people who have never had any coaching - but with coaching can be enjoyed so much more. Junior members in particular can benefit from regular guidance and honing of technique - this is particularly important for those that are still growing - as poor technique and bad habits can lead to injury.
