For the main doubles events a draw for partners takes place, to try and ensure that relatively experienced players or relatively inexperienced players do not partner each other, although this is not an exact science.

For some years there had been 8 main events;  Under 14 & Under 18 Singles, Men’s & Women’s Singles, Men’s & Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, 50+ Mixed Doubles.  In 2018 two new events were added - an 8 & Under mini-tennis competition and a 10 & Under event.  However since 2019 and the post-covid years we haven't had the numbers to run the junior events.

In 2024 the 50 & Over mixed doubles was redesignated as a 60 & Over event.

Details of all previous years’ winners can be found in our history under "About Us".

A few years' data are missing from the late 1970s / early 1980s, but subject to that, since records began, the most successful singles champions (including junior singles titles) have been Jean Heath & Samuel Bromiley with 7 titles then Deirdre Kemble & Helen Spencer with 6 titles each.  Most doubles titles have been achieved by John Bright with 25.

Some photos below from the 2022 finals - the cups, Charlotte and John in action, and with Adrian and Nicole, women's and men's doubles finalists.  Full details of winners & finalists here and in the history section.

The 2020 event was postponed due to covid-19, but the 2021 event took place (although without the junior competitions), reaching a sunny conclusion on the weekend of 11th & 12th September.  The results for all events are shown here:  2021 Tourn.

The other photos, below, show the women's champion Teresa, men's  doubles finalists (Adrian, Will, Chris, Noel), mixed winners (Cecily & Steve), men's singles finalists (John B & Thomas) and women's doubles finalists Charlotte, Teresa, Jessica, Suzanne.  The women's singles finalists can be found on the "News" page.
