Chelmsford & District LTF 2025
Our summer season started with a 5-3 win for the women at home to Chelmsfordians III, followed by an 8-0 win home to Danbury III. There followed another 8-0 win, at Grove IV, then 7-1 wins at both Great Baddow III and Chelmsfordians III. The first defeat was a close 4-5-3.5 at Grove III. Then a 5-3 home win v bottom club Grove IV. In July they maintained their position close to the top of the table with a 6.5 - 1.5 win at home to Great Baddow III, then 6-2 home to Hamptons II and a close 4.5-3.5 win over top club Grove III. A defeat followed, 6-2 at Danbury III, but then a 7-1 win at Hamptons II means we top the table, ahead of Grove III, who needed an 8-0 win in their final match to overtake us, but only managed a 6-2. So it seems we are going to be promoted as champions, into Division 2 for the first time ever.
The men's first match was away to Grove IV, who had come down from a higher division, and we lost 6-2. Then we travelled to Ongar and secured a 4-4 draw. Then a home win 5-3 v Grove V, and a close 3-5 defeat home to top team Grove IV. In June we had a straightforward 8-0 win at home to bottom team Hamptons III. On the hottest day of the year we travelled to Grove V and achieved a good 4-4 draw. In late July we enjoyed a big 8-0 win at Hamptons III, then in August a 5-3 home win v Ongar and 8-0 v Danbury III. Finally we got a good 8-0 win at Danbury III. We end in 2nd place, but the top spot and the one promotion place eludes us.
Our first mixed match was away against a strong Grove II team, who were a Division I team last year. We lost 7-1. Then followed a good 4-4 draw at home to Danbury II. A good win at home 8-0 to promoted team Hamptons II saw us rise to 3rd place in the table. Then followed a 6-2 defeat at home to Grove II, but a 6-2 win home to Grove III a week later. A 7-1 home win v Chelmsfordians II saw us 3rd in the table, just below Danbury II and Grove II. A good 6.5-1.5 win at Hamptons II in late July, a 4-4 draw at Chelmsfordians II in early August and a 7-1 win at Danbury II put us temporarily top of the table, but Grove III have now overtaken us and will be champions.
Brentwood & District LTA 2025
Our men's first match was on 24th April, and we lost 5-3 away, against a strong Writtle II. Next match was away to Old Brentwoods I and we lost 5-3. Next we went to Billericay II and got a good 4-4 draw. In June we went to Ongar I, rarely a happy hunting ground, and lost 2-6. However in the return fixture we beat them 6-2 at home. There followed a 5-3 win at home to Bentley II, then a very close 4.5-3.5 win home to Writtle II, then a 6-2 win at Blackmore, a 8-0 win v Old Brentwoods (helped by four walkover sets) and a 5-3 home win over Blackmore to put us in 1st place just for now (but the chasing teams have games in hand).
CDLTF daytime midweek seniors' league 2025
The first match was away to Hutton & Shenfield in the women's division. A 6-0 defeat. Then followed a home match against the champion team Wickham Bishops A - a competitive battle, but the opponents edged it 4-2. Our third match was a 6-0 home defeat to a strong Danbury team. Then a 5-1 loss home to Chelmsfordians. In August we drew 4-4 at Wickham Bishops B., then suffered a 6-0 loss at Writtle.
The mixed seniors started the defence of their title with a 6-0 win at Hutton & Shenfield. In the return fixture at home we won 4-2. In August we travelled to Kelvedon Hatch, and lost 4-2, but won the return at home 6-0, enough to clinch the title again.
The inaugural men's seniors' kicked off in late July. It's only a little league, but they hope to expand the number of teams in future years. We started with a 5-1 win at Stock. In the return match we triumphed 6-0, helped by some walkovers due to the visitors not having a full team.

Stock Floodlit Winter League - 2024/25 - results here, league tables here
Double champions, and three promotions.
Men - matches commenced with a 6-2 win at Brentwood Hard II, then two 7-1 home wins v Stock II and also Chelmsfordians III. On 13th November we secured a 5-3 win at Brentwood Lawn III. Then followed a good 8-0 home win v Southminster, and a 6-2 win at a cold and frosty Stock B. December started with a 5-3 home win v Danbury II, then 7-1 v Brentwood Hard II. In the first match of 2025 we won 5-3 at home to Brentwood Lawn III. Then a 5-3 win at Southminster and a convincing 8-0 home win v closest rivals Great Baddow IV. A 4-4 draw at Danbury II was followed by an 8-0 win at Great Baddow IV and finally a 6-2 win at Chelmsfordians III, which means we have 13 wins and 1 draw out of 14 matches played. We win the division, a few points ahead of Southminster.
Mixed - the season commenced 16th October, but after winning two sets at Blackmore the heavens opened and the match was abandoned. On 23rd they secured a good home win 7-1 v Hamptons II, and followed this with an 8-0 win at Ongar. The good start to the season continued with a 7-1 win at Bentley, followed by a 5-3 win v Thurrock II, an away match played at home. 2025 started with a 6-2 win home to Blackmore, then 7-1 home to Old Brentwoods, 8-0 at Hamptons II and a 4-4 draw at Old Brentwoods. Then followed a couple of defeats, 2-6 at Blackmore and 3-5 at Southminster, but we still top the table. A win 8-0 home to Ongar followed by a draw 4-4 v Southminster and a win vThurrock II 8-0, confirms us as winners of the division, just ahead of Southminster.
Women - in the first match, we triumphed in a close 5-3 win at home to Brentwood Hard II. (However this match subsequently became void as B. Hard decided to withdraw from the league). We then drew 4-4 at Grove III, lost 3-5 at Writtle II and drew 4-4 home to Danbury III. 2025 started with a 8-0 win at Chelmsfordians III, then a 6-2 win at home to Writtle II, followed by a narrow 3-5 loss home to Grove III. At the end of February there was a 7-1 home win v Chelmsfordians III, then finally a 6-2 loss at Danbury III. This kept us in 2nd place, and was just enough for promotion to Division 3.
