Stock Floodlit Winter League - 2024/25 - results here, league tables here
Double champions, and three promotions.
Men - matches commenced with a 6-2 win at Brentwood Hard II, then two 7-1 home wins v Stock II and also Chelmsfordians III. On 13th November we secured a 5-3 win at Brentwood Lawn III. Then followed a good 8-0 home win v Southminster, and a 6-2 win at a cold and frosty Stock B. December started with a 5-3 home win v Danbury II, then 7-1 v Brentwood Hard II. In the first match of 2025 we won 5-3 at home to Brentwood Lawn III. Then a 5-3 win at Southminster and a convincing 8-0 home win v closest rivals Great Baddow IV. A 4-4 draw at Danbury II was followed by an 8-0 win at Great Baddow IV and finally a 6-2 win at Chelmsfordians III, which means we have 13 wins and 1 draw out of 14 matches played. We win the division, a few points ahead of Southminster.
Mixed - the season commenced 16th October, but after winning two sets at Blackmore the heavens opened and the match was abandoned. On 23rd they secured a good home win 7-1 v Hamptons II, and followed this with an 8-0 win at Ongar. The good start to the season continued with a 7-1 win at Bentley, followed by a 5-3 win v Thurrock II, an away match played at home. 2025 started with a 6-2 win home to Blackmore, then 7-1 home to Old Brentwoods, 8-0 at Hamptons II and a 4-4 draw at Old Brentwoods. Then followed a couple of defeats, 2-6 at Blackmore and 3-5 at Southminster, but we still top the table. A win 8-0 home to Ongar followed by a draw 4-4 v Southminster and a win vThurrock II 8-0, confirms us as winners of the division, just ahead of Southminster.
Women - in the first match, we triumphed in a close 5-3 win at home to Brentwood Hard II. (However this match subsequently became void as B. Hard decided to withdraw from the league). We then drew 4-4 at Grove III, lost 3-5 at Writtle II and drew 4-4 home to Danbury III. 2025 started with a 8-0 win at Chelmsfordians III, then a 6-2 win at home to Writtle II, followed by a narrow 3-5 loss home to Grove III. At the end of February there was a 7-1 home win v Chelmsfordians III, then finally a 6-2 loss at Danbury III. This kept us in 2nd place, and was just enough for promotion to Division 3.
