Club Coach

In June 2018, Lesley started to work with Largs Tennis Club to develop their coaching programme at the new club venue at Inverclyde Sports Centre.

Lesley brings a wealth of experience to Largs Tennis Club.

Before her move to Scotland in 2012, Lesley spent 15 years as the Tennis Manager at a large indoor tennis club in Nottingham where she managed a team of coaches and was responsible for coordinating all the junior and senior coaching programmes for members and non-members from beginner to performance standard. Lesley also organised a competitions programme from mini to senior’s age groups.

After her move to Scotland, Lesley set up Glasgow Disability Tennis which is the only club in Scotland that provides coaching and competition for all four of the disability groups – deaf, learning disability, visually impaired & wheelchair. The success of this club was recognised in 2016 when the club won the Tennis Scotland’s Disability Programme of the Year and the Aegon British Tennis Disability Programme of the Year - This is the highest award possible in Great Britain.

Lesley is the LTA Learning Disability Advisor working in development, competitions & performance departments as well as the Tutor on the learning Disability CPD course. Lesley has also been the Head coach for numerous Great Britain teams in International Disability events and is the International Tennis Director for Virtus Sport (performance level).

Lesley’s hard work was recognised at the Tennis Scotland Awards 2014 when she won the Disability Award and in 2015 she won Sport Scotland’s Technical Official of the Year.

Lesley is an ABTO qualified Grade 4 Referee & Competition Organiser and at the LTA British Tennis Awards in 2013, she won the LTA ABTO Official of the Year.
