Easter Adult Doubles Workshops
This Easter, take your doubles game to the next level with two focused adult workshops. Each workshop is designed to help players understand their roles on the court, improve teamwork, and execute smarter strategies in match play.
Workshop 1: Serve & Return
Start the point with confidence! This session focuses on the two most important shots in doubles: the serve and the return. Here we will look at:
- Serve placement, hand signals, targeting returner's weaknesses and setting up your partner
- How to effectively neutralise a return and gain control of the rally
- Doubles patterns to help dominate the opening shots of a point
- Communication between server and server's partner on where to serve, as well as the returner and returner's partner
Through practical drills, you’ll develop tactical awareness to start every point with an advantage.
Workshop 2: Net Players
Once the point is in play, the battle is often won at the net. This session focuses on the roles of both net players: the server’s partner and the returner’s partner. Here we'll look at:
- Positions at the net - where and when to move
- Poaching - when to poach, how to poach, and how to apply pressure on opponents.
- Communication between you and your partner during a rally
- Transition from attack to defence or vice versa during a point
Both workshops combine tactical discussion with on-court drills, so you’ll leave with a clear understanding of your role in doubles and the confidence to apply these strategies in your matches.
