Congratulations to our 2022 Mixed Doubles Champions - Diane & Nick Tamblyn. The fine evening and, with the slight wind dying, conditions were perfect.

The early rounds saw close and competitive matches and an insight into the possibility of things to come. In the semi’s the score line hides the underlying tussle that took Sandra and Andrew Broadhurst through at the expense of Anna Smith & Nick Smith whilst Sally Nicoll and Richard Perry pushed Diane and Nick who prevailed in the tie-break. It was clear the final was to be a tight tussle and so it was with Diane and Nick winning it 5-4 (7-5 in the tie break) to take the title just a week since joining us at LWTC. Vicky and Alex Ling won the plate competition.

Thanks to everyone who took part in a delightful social evening’s tennis …. and to my wife Janet for her unerring patience during the last fortnight!
