The festive season was announced in style last Saturday (Dec 10) with the singing of traditional carols at the club's Christmas Singalong in the clubhouse.
Despite the freezing weather and it also being the evening of the England v France World Cup quarter final, some 20-25 members still came to the evening to sing a variety of traditional carols and songs. It started with O Come All Ye Faithful, followed by While Shepherds Watched their Flocks by Night and then We Three Kings.
After a meal interval, members went on to sing other classics such as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Winter Wonderland and the 12 Days of Christmas. The evening then drew to a close with a memorable performance of White Christmas before finishing with a rousing rendtion of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
