Sunday 26 March- American Mixed Doubles Tournament 11:00 start
This was our first tournament of the year.
Congratulations to the winners: Julie Harvey and Paul Cooper
In second place were Laura Clarke and Simon Haggart.
Thanks to all who attended and supported this event.
2022
Sunday 9 October 2022 - American Mixed Doubles Charity Tournament 11:00 start
This event is held in memory of the Club's A Team captain, Ian Ward, who sadly passed away on 6 December 2020. The event raised money for the Nightingale Macmillan Unit at Royal Derby Hospital.
11 couples competed and the winners were:

Sunday 12 June 2022 - American Mixed Doubles Tournament 11:00 start
Ten couples competed in this ever popular competition.
May 2022 - Club Championships start
All matches to be completed before Finals Day on 25th September 2022.
If you are interested in competing in any of these events then please let Sallie Allen know by 8th May and if you are entering any of the Doubles events then, also, include the name of your partner.
Entry fee £5 per person per event.

Sunday 13 March 2022 - American Mixed Doubles Tournament
12 couples competed, each couple playing 4 short sets.
The winning lady was Pat Milham

Box Leagues 2021
We run competitive box leagues for both singles and doubles which is a great way to play more tennis and meet other members. The competition is open to all ages and abilities:

Wednesday 29 December 2021 - Christmas Tournament
This took the form of a rotating round robin. The ladies' winner was Karen Brenchley and the men's winner was Andy Fleming. Congratulations to both.
Sunday 7 November 2021 - American Mixed Doubles Tournament
Due to several withdrawals the format of this event was changed to a variation on a round robin.
Sunday 31 October 2021 - Halloween Tournament
8 pairs of players entered the tournament with each pair consisting of an Over 11 playing with an Under 11 junior. Every pair played each other in timed matches using mini orange balls and red rackets. (Too windy to use red balls!) The court area consisted of the two service boxes.
Scores were very close - the winners were Layla Sherriff and Lydia Wilkinson with 85 points and runners up were Howard Cheshire and Tobias Lloyd with 84 points.
The best pumpkin was won by Eva Jon and Rose Grey won the best fancy dress costume.
Monday 30th August 2021 - American Mixed Doubles Tournament
13 couples competed, each couple playing 4 short sets. The Ladies' winner was Laura Clarke with 22 points. There was close competition between the men with 3 men finishing on 23 points. A short round robin competition was played to decide the winner, Alex Harvey.
Sunday 6th June 2021 - American Mixed Doubles Charity Tournament
This event was held in memory of the Club's A Team captain, Ian Ward, who sadly passed away on 6 December 2020. The event was held to raise money for the MacMillan Nurses who looked after Ian at the Royal Derby Hospital. There were 30 entrants and the tournament raised £1070.
The winners were Judith Hancock and Andy Fleming.
