CLUB FIXTURES WINTER 2024/25
Note - In the Winter all matches are played to 2 tie break sets (7) and a championship tie break to 10 points, to decide a winner.
In the Summer (except Midweek vets) all matches are 2 tie break sets without a champioship tie-break. Therefore a match can be drawn.
At Meopham LTC we wish to provide those members interested in playing competitive tennis the opportunity to play for the Club in the local league(s). The Club enters a number of teams in the North Kent League and in the Winter, both the North Kent and the Kent Leagues. In addition, we also enter a mens’ team into the National League competition.
The Club caters on a competitive level for players of a high standard right through to those playing at a more modest level. The age range goes from young juniors right through to the “more mature” veteran. Age is no barrier whether young or not so young! So if you are interested please let us know. If we have enough demand, we can always enter further teams in the following season.
Rachel Giffard (Ladies Captain) and Lawrie Lowe (Mens Captain) are responsible to the overall management of our teams supported by captains for the individual teams. They are your first port of call should you be interested in playing in the teams.
Matches in the Summer North Kent League are played during the weekend or evenings with the exception of the Midweek Vets that play during daytime in the week. Matches are doubles with the ladies and mens vets being two pairs and the mixed and mens being three pairs. There are usually ten matches per team per season, five home and five away.
Over the Winter the matches are two pairs only and played at weekends again with the exception of the midweek vets.
We run match practices on a Wednesday evening over the Winter and will look to continue this during the Summer.
Match fees are £3 for an adult and £2 for juniors or students. This pays for entry fees and the balls for home matches. Players are also expected to contribute to the cost of teas for home matches.
