14u 12 counties Corby Report 

The boys team of Finley, Noah, Oscar and Elliott and the girls team of Amelia, Zoe, jemima and Charlotte travelled to Corby for the 14u 12 counties event at Corby. 

The teams had a tough start to the day against Cambridgeshire who were the eventual winners on the day. The boys unfortunately lost every match but that was not a reflection on the fight and quality of tennis they played with some very close matches. The girls team faired better getting a 2-2 draw, with Amelia and Jemima winning at number 1 & 3 respectively. 

Next up was Bedfordshire, Elliott and Oscar got the boys off to a great start and then Noah sealed the win. Unfortunately, Finley couldn’t make it a clean sweep and lost in a tight match tiebreak at number 1 singles. Making it a 3-1 win overall. 
The girls however did manage to get a clean sweep winning 4-0 against a young Bedfordshire team. 

We finished the day against Notts. The boys fought hard but came up short losing 3-1, Oscar getting the win at number 3 singles. Noah almost secured a draw but ultimately came up short losing 14-12 in a match tiebreak. 
The girls got off to a mixed start with Jemima winning at number 3 before Charlotte lost a tough match at number 4. Amelia then won at number 1 singles and Zoe sealed the win at number 2 making it 3-1 overall. 

It was great to see how the players are developing and to see the fighting spirit from all the players.
