U10s 12 Counties

Last weekend Norfolks U10 boys and girls teams travelled to Corby to face Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Nottinghamshire

Cambs were up first. Our girls and boys put in some battling performances. Bea in the girls team and Oliver in the boys pushed their opponents to a third set tiebreak, however, Cambridgeshire were too strong on the day. Cambs winning 4-0 against both our teams.

Up next were Bedfordshire. Henry and Matthew got the first wins on the board for the boys, Oliver then confirmed a Norfolk victory with a double bagel. The boys winning 3-1The girls went 2-0 down. But Abi and Esmee stepped up with convincing wins to salvage a 2-2 draw Good mentality shown from both teams after defeat to Cambs

Confidence was high to face the last opponents of the day: Nottinghamshire. Henry and Matthew playing some great tennis, narrowly losing to high quality opponents. Oliver and Dexter showed great character to win their matches, ending the boys day with a 2-2 draw. The girls came out firing. All 4 girls winning their singles, with the loss of only 8 games across the 4 matches A 4-0 W to finish the day

Both teams finished third overall. Captain Barnaby Taylor was very impressed with how well the boys and girls competed against tough opposition
