LADIES CHARITY DOUBLES TOURNAMENT 2023, sponsored by Fresh Herb Salts

The second East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club Ladies’ Charity Doubles Tennis Tournament of 2023, sponsored by Fresh Herb Salts, was held on Wednesday 14th June– another sunny and very warm day.

Again, sixteen pairs of ladies from all over Norfolk & Suffolk congregated at Lime Tree Road to take part. The format was four rounds of tennis in a “Compass” draw whereby winners went into the “forward” draw and first round losers into the “backward” draw ensuring everyone had four matches of 11 games each and played all morning. Thus, the tennis portion of the day was finished by 1pm, ready for presentations, lunch and the ever-popular raffle.

Once again, Diane Bush & Margaret Brockes stepped in to run the event in the absence of Derek Perry who was very ill and still in hospital. Thankfully he is now home and on the mend.

The winners of the forward draw were Mandy Driver & Lucy Foster (Gorleston) and the runners-up were Sonia Miller and (honorary lady) Jeremy Storr (EATSC). The winners of the backward draw were Alison Dhrampal & Frances Hornor (EATSC).

They all received gift boxes of Fresh Herb Salts courtesy of Aynsley Evoli – https://www.freshherbsalt.com

Sharon Watts, excelled herself providing a wonderful salmon & salad lunch using Fresh Herb Salts condiments much enjoyed by all while, once again, club manager, Alasdair, was kept busy making jugs of Pimms!

Mike Walker, President of the NLTA, took charge of the raffle which raised £500 which, at the request of Aynsley, was donated to Derek & Jeremy’s award-winning non-profit enterprise, Tennis-Able, which provides free tennis coaching to the disabled and disadvantaged – https://www.tennisable.co.uk
