FAQ

When are the courts open?

  • Every day from 8 a.m. until dusk (courts close in line with daylight hours, which varies throughout the year).
  • Please note some courts may be booked for coaching activities or events.

Do I have to be a Southborough and High Brooms resident to register and play?

  • No, everyone is welcome.

Can I hire equipment?

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer that facility.

How many sessions can I book a day?

  • You can book 1 hour of play per day, which totals 7 hours in a week.  You can book up to 7 days in advance.

Once I have booked my court, how do I get access?

  • You will receive a booking confirmation containing a 6-digit PIN. Enter this into the keypad at the gate (the PIN will be active 10 minutes before the booked session, throughout the booked session and then until 5 minutes after the booked session has ended).  Do not forget to add an *asterisk before entering your gate pin code.

I have not received confirmation of my booking or my gate access code. What should I do?

  • The gate access code is provided within your booking confirmation email.  Please check your junk/spam folder of the email account provided when you signed up. 
  • Alternatively, please log into your ClubSpark Account and check your bookings, where you will see the details of your booking, alongside the gate access code.
  • If you still cannot find your confirmation email or gate access code, please email admin@southboroughcouncil.co.uk in advance of your booking (email monitored during office hours).

What do I do if my PIN doesn't work?

  • Please double check that you are trying to use your PIN within the timeframe that the PIN is active and that you are including the *asterisk before entering (please see section above).
  • If you are, please call the telephone number that is on your booking confirmation during office hours Monday to Friday (see Contact page).   Unfortunately, we are only small Town Council, so do not work weekends and bank holidays.

How do I exit the tennis courts?

  • You do not need your pin code to exit the courts, you simply open the gate freely.  For health and safety reasons, and in the case of emergencies, the courts have to remain easy to exit.  

How do I cancel a pay and play booking?

  • You can cancel your booking online up to 12 hours in advance. If you cancel after this time, you will not receive a refund for your booking. If you have any problems with this, please give us a call on 01892 529176 during office hours Monday to Friday. Out of courtesy, please cancel as soon as you know, so others can play (please see Terms of Use page).
  • Login to ClubSpark (top right-hand corner).  Click on your name (top right-hand corner).  Click "My Profile".  Click "Manage Bookings".  Find the booking and click "Cancel" (See Book A Court page).

Is coaching available?

  • Southborough Town Council are delighted to be partnered with Hotshotz as our tennis coaching provider. Check out both our websites plus the Coaching page for details of activities and events. 

Can I make a booking for coaching purposes?

  • Only coaches appointed by Southborough Town Council are authorised to deliver coaching activities on the courts.  Booking of the courts for commercial/financial gain is prohibited without prior approval.
