2 week tennis coaching taster

In the 2 weeks I have my aim is to meet all existing tennis playing members of all ages and levels. The warm welcome i have received has been very much appreciated.

I have already led some small groups of tennagers and adults, as well as the mens 1st & 2nd teams. There is huge potential within the framework of what i see at USK tennis club.

The new term of sessions will start mid October with an exact date TBC.

One thing is for sure, I aim to be inclusive and to build better basic technique into players at USK who want to be the best version of themselves. This means for me to focus on developing players with sounder technique and ensuring the basic mechanics of core strokes are set. Following this, growth and attraction of numbers is key to ensure we have a healthy base of players of all ages.

I am a freelance independent professional tennis coach with over 25 years experience.

I will design and deliver an inclusive coaching & competition programme for USK tennis club.

The Programme at USK will offer something for everyone, with new adult sessions like cardio, team tennis doubles work-shops to help our teams climb the leagues. A junior programme that embraces LTA Youth but with our own coaching stamp & FBI teaching methods put on a programme that caters for all, but allows the more competitive junior player to flourish in either internal team tennis or external LTA grade 5-3 tournaments.

Whether you are an adult recreational or club player, a complete beginner, an established competing junior player - i will ensure you have the basic technical skills with correct grips / swing-lines / good foot-work & bases , as well as a good match-play brain that can problem solve. We aim to have fun on the court while we help you on your tennis journey.

I am an established & experienced LTA official Phil who runs LTA grade 3, 4 & 5 tournaments at USK tennis club.

For periods of the year Phil delivers blocks of days a year in Vale do lobo - Algarve for 5 star tennis holidays, a company he helped formed back in 2010.

Phil is supported by a number of assistants and is involved with Specialist Sports and promotes Prince and adidas.
